| It's vital to ensure your makeup brush is clean Fri, 21 Mar 2008 02:17:22 ADT Most women I know who enjoy applying makeup have at least one decent, quality makeup brush in their collection. Unfortunately, more often than not, I'll see that lonely little brush tumbling around in the bottom of a makeup clutch, collecting particles of eye shadow, blush and lip pencil shavings. It usually has frayed hairs, a dented handle and remnants of makeup from yesteryear. |

| Verdi gets a new fan in an eighth-grade student Sat, 09 Feb 2008 04:12:02 AST Let me first say that I have never had an experience quite like Il Trovatore. Hats off to the orchestra and, most certainly, to the maestro. The casting was superb, and the performance riveting. The sets were amazing; it looked and felt like 14th-century Spain. Supertitles: hardly necessary. The tone of the voices came with such clarity one would have had to have absolutely no musical ear or no ears at all, for that matter not to hear the longing and sadness in the story. I was absolutely blown away by this opera. Manrico and Count di Luna had no equal that night. Leonora came off as a passionate and assertive heroine. Azucena was shocking in her quest for revenge. Once again, hats off to all: to Verdi, to the cast, the orchestra and, without a doubt, the crew. Bravissima. |

| Four big voices in Trovatore display superb musicality Tue, 05 Feb 2008 02:36:00 AST I do not remember hearing four such enormous voices in the Discovery Theatre as those possessed by the principal quartet in the current production of Il Trovatore. | Be bold when you want to highlight your eyes Fri, 28 Mar 2008 03:42:49 ADT Pink Chocolates by Clinique. I'll always remember that little silver compact with two pinky-brown eye shadows and a little sponge-tip applicator. It was my first eye shadow, bought around the tender age of 14. I thought I was pretty slick having not just one color but two and even more special to have gotten it at Lamonts rather than the supermarket makeup aisle. To think that little compact started my love for all things cosmetic. |
